Evans is one of the great players
in Red Sox history. He was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame after
19 outstanding seasons with the club. Dwight was a three-time Major League
All-Star, and is considered to be one of the great defensive right fielders
of all-time. He won 8 Gold Gloves. Evans played 2,505 games in a Red Sox
uniform, 2nd most in club history (Carl Yastrzemski 3,308). From 1981-90,
"Dewey" hit 251 home runs, the most of any American League player,
and he had 605 extra-base hits in the 1980's, more than any Major League
player. He is still with the Red Sox organization as a player development
