Dwight Evans
is one of the great players in Red Sox history. He was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame after 19 outstanding seasons with the club. Dwight was a three-time Major League All-Star, and is considered to be one of the great defensive right fielders of all-time. He won 8 Gold Gloves. Evans played 2,505 games in a Red Sox uniform, 2nd most in club history (Carl Yastrzemski 3,308). From 1981-90, "Dewey" hit 251 home runs, the most of any American League player, and he had 605 extra-base hits in the 1980's, more than any Major League player. He is still with the Red Sox organization as a player development consultant.
