Mike Sullivan served two seasons as Head Coach of the Boston Bruins. At age 35, he was the youngest Head Coach in the National Hockey League when he moved behind the B’s bench for the 2003-2004 season. Sullivan earned rave reviews when he led the club to the Northeast Division title and the second-best record in the Eastern Conference with a mark of 41-19-15-7, for 104 points and a .634 win percentage. Mike came to Boston after one year as the head coach of the Bruins top minor-league affiliate, the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League. Under his watch, the AHL Bruins captured the North Division title and established a franchise-record with a 19-game home unbeaten streak. Sullivan entered coaching after an 11-year playing career in the NHL with San Jose, Calgary, Boston, and Phoenix. A native of Marshfield, Massachusetts, Mike was a standout four-year player at Boston University in the late 1980’s, and finished his Terrier career with 138 points in 141 games.
