Tsai is Chef/Owner of the world-renowned East/West bistro, Blue
Ginger, in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Since its opening in February of
1998, Blue Ginger has impressed diners from Boston and beyond with its
unique cuisine. Esquire Magazine honored Ming as “Chef of the Year”
in 1998. Four years later, the James Beard Foundation crowned Ming as
the 2002 “Best Chef Northeast” and the 2002-03 & 2004-2005
Zagat Restaurant Guide rated Blue Ginger the “2nd Most Popular Boston
Restaurant.” In 2005, Ming was honored as “Restaurateur of
the Year” by the Massachusetts Restaurant Association. Ming is also
an award-winning television star. He won an Emmy in 1998 for his hosting
of the Food Network’s “East meets West, Cooking with Ming
Tsai” Ming is currently the host of Public Television’s cooking
show, SIMPLY MING, and one of three celebrity judges on PBS’s ‘reality’
cooking show, COOKING UNDER FIRE, He is also the author of three popular
cookbooks, “Blue Ginger,” “Simply Ming” and “Ming’s
Master Recipes.” A native of Dayton, Ohio, Ming is a graduate of
Yale University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He earned a master’s
degree in Hotel Administration and Hospitality Marketing from Cornell
