Wahlberg has proven his versatility by transforming himself from
a teen pop sensation to a noteworthy dramatic film actor and critically
acclaimed television star. Born in Boston, the eighth of nine children,
Donnie started a band (at age 14) that would become the international
pop music sensation, New Kids on the Block. At the height of the groups’
popularity, Donnie decided to focus on writing and producing for his brother
Mark. Then, he explored his interest in acting and landed a prominent
role in “Bullet” with Mickey Rourke and Tupac Shakur. He has
also starred in the HBO award winning mini-series “Band of Brothers.”
His film credits include “The Sixth Sense” with Bruce Willis,
“Ransom” co-starring Mel Gibson, and the independent film
“Southie” directed by John Shea. Last seen starring in the
NBC drama series “Boomtown”, Wahlberg received outstanding
reviews for his portrayal of Joel Stevens, an intense detective struggling
to keep his home life secret. Donnie will soon be seen in leading roles
in four more feature films to be released within the next year.return to celebrity listing |
